List of 13 manga released in 2018


There are numerous brand-new Japanese manga series and new chapters of ongoing ones to be released in 2018. Here are 13 of them:


1. "The King of Fighters: A New Beginning" 


This collaborative project of Shonen Sirious Magazine and SNK is the manga adaptation of the fighting game series "The King of Fighters." Featuring Kyoutarou Azuma's art, this weekly manga will retell the settings of the 14th installment of the video game series. 


2. "Blue Exorcist" Volume 18


Released on January 2, 2018, this volume will start with the return of Shura, Rin and Yukio to the True Cross Academy after dealing with the demons of Shura's past. This manga features Kazue Kato's story and art. 


3. "Fire Punch"


This manga for mature audiences will be available in January 2018. The story of this 2017 Manga Taisho Award nominee revolves around survival amid the snow, starvation and madness caused by the Ice Witch. 


4. "Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters"


The first installment of the "Godzilla" anime trilogy titled "Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters" premiered in Japan on November 17, 2017. A manga adaptation of the animated film featuring Kurahashi Yuusu's art will premiere on Shonen Jump + in March 2018. 



5. "Monster Tamer Girls"


Yen Press will release this supernatural comedy manga in March 2018. Written and illustrated by Mijurushi Shimazaki, the story revolves around two girls attending a new school and eventually become responsible for the care and feeding of monsters. 


6. Final "ReLIFE" chapter



Written and illustrated by Yayoi Sou, this manga is about an unemployed 27-year-old man named Kaizaki Arata who is offered a drug that can make him look like 17 years old. Its 222nd chapter, which is the last one, will be released in March 2018. 

7. Untitled manga by Nobuyuki Anzai


A new manga by the "Flame of Recca" is on the works. It will premiere in the Sunday S Zokan magazine in spring.


8. New "Shaman King" chapters


Written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Takei, 21 volumes of this manga about the adventures of a shaman named Yoh Asakura were published by Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from June 30, 1998 to August 20, 2004. New chapters will be released in Shonen Magazine Edge in spring. 


9. "That Blue Sky Feeling"


Known in Japan as "Sorairo Flutter," this LGBT romance manga will be released by Viz Media in summer 2018. Featuring Okura's story and Hashii's art, it is about Noshiro, an outgoing high school student who finds himself drawn to Sanada, the school outcast rumored to be gay. 


10. Untitled anime by Masashi Kishimoto


On December 17, 2017, Kishimoto revealed during the "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" stage panel at Jump Festa 2018 that he is working on a new manga that will be released in August 2018 in time for the 50th anniversary of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. However, the "Naruto" manga creator did not reveal the title of the upcoming manga. 


11. "Lelouch the Home Tutor"


Titled "Katei Kyoshi no Lelouch-san" in Japanese, this comedy manga is a "Code Geass" spin-off. It will be released on December 22, 2018 on Comic Newtype 


12. "Nameless Asterism" Volume 1


This is another LGBT romance manga scheduled to be released in 2018. Featuring Kina Kobayashi's art and story, this yuri (lesbian) manga is about three young women Tsukasa, Nadeshiko and Mikage, who have been friends since junior high and now entangled in the conflict between friendship and romance. 


13. "Code Geass- Hangyaku no Lelouch"


This is a tentative title. Tomofumi Ogasawa is drawing this manga scheduled to be released in 2018 on Comic Newtype.
